The USA has approved sale of the weapon of Saudi Arabia for $1,15 billion

U.S. authorities have approved previously the transaction about sale to Saudi Arabia of 153 tanks, several hundred machine guns and other types of arms for the total amount of 1,15 billion dollars.

According to the Pentagon, the transaction provides including sale of 133 Abrams tanks, 266 machine guns of M240, and also smoke grenade launchers and armor recovery vehicles.

On Monday the U.S. State Department has approved sales opportunity of the weapon to Riyadh and has notified on it the congress.

As it is noted in the message of the Ministry of Defence of the USA, the offered transaction will promote "strengthening of safety of the strategic regional partner who continues to remain the leading guarantor of political stability and economic progress in the Middle East".

Saudi Arabia is a part of the coalition which struggles with fighters of extremist group "Islamic State" (in Russia it is forbidden) in the territory of Syria and Iraq.

Armed forces of Saudi Arabia also strike airstrikes on line items of insurgents Houthis in Yemen.
