Elton John AIDS Foundation Applauds California Governor Jerry Brown for Signing SB 239 into Law

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at AIDS Weekly & Law -- The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) applauds California Governor Jerry Brown for signing Senate Bill 239 into law. This landmark piece of legislation reforms laws that unfairly criminalized people living with HIV and therefore made at-risk individuals less willing to be tested for HIV and receive lifesaving treatment that also prevents the further spread of the disease. The new legislation also serves as a model for other states to likewise revise their unjust laws regarding people living with HIV/AIDS.
