European Parliament votes for ban on single-use plastic
Finally some action toward the plastic problem.
The European Parliament on Wednesday approved measures that could lead to a ban on single-use plastic items, including straws, cotton swabs and disposable plastic plates and cutlery, by 2021.
This has been a long time coming and should be implemented asap. Individuals can already take measures to reduce their plastic waste but corporations are the ones that could really drive it forward. People are increasingly aware about this but their efforts are limited by corporations and governments' lack of action and accountability.
