Zac Efron Will Play Real Life Serial Killer In Upcoming Indie Film
Actor Zac Efron.
Zac Efron is mostly known for romantic comedies but he's decided to take on a much darker role. He'll be playing real-life serial killer Ted Bundy in an upcoming indie film titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile. In a recent interview, he said the role would be one of the most challenging ones so far in his career.
"Ted Bundy is going to be a challenge. I think it's going to be different and it's going to be fun. I'm super stoked."
Ted Bundy in police custody in 1978.
The film will be based on the disturbing accounts of Bundy's longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer. In the 1970s Bundy was responsible for the brutal deaths of at least 30 women (there may be more victims authorities don't know about). Bundy escaped from prison twice before ultimately being found guilty. He was executed by the electric chair at Florida State Prison on January 24, 1989.
Playing the role of such a horrendous monster would be a challenge for anyone. It will be interesting to see how well Efron pulls off this role.
