Powerplay between Russia and England

in #news7 years ago (edited)

The case of the Russian spy who was poisoned in the UK is one that I have been watching with great interest. According to news reports a few weeks ago, a unknown substance was used to poison a Russian spy in a shopping centre in Wiltshire. The man came in contact with the substance after he sat on bench. A few moments later, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. This man had previously being jailed in Russia after being convicted of spying for Britain, but he was later released and allowed to go to Britain as part of a prisoner exchange in 2010.

Now in retaliation. Britain has taken several measures, one of which is the review of visas for wealthy "foreign nationals". Most think that this move is in response to Russia's action but Theresa May denies it. We all know that this is true. It is too much of a coincidence.

Reports also say that NATO has expelled seven Russian diplomats as a well, to send a message to Russia that this behavior will not be tolerated. It seems like Russia is trying very hard to make a few enemies.

All i'll say about it is that this just looks like the perfect plot of a Matt Damon movie. The only sad thing is that it is real, and people have potentially lost their lives because of this power play.
