Nvidia Ampere GPUs + Nvidia vs Miners
In today's tech news it looks like Nvidia could be preparing their next generation of GPUs to launch on April 12th, according to rumors. This would be the successor to the Pascal lineup of cards and likely feature a GDDR6 memory implementation as opposed to HBM2 which we've seen on Titan Volta.

Our second story is that Nvidia may be increasing GPU production of Pascal based, 10 series GPUs to help fill the demand currently for gamers and miners that are leveraging GPU power to turn a prophet.

If Pascal is still viable then why not refresh it? They already have the production yields nailed down and no real competition from AMD on the high end since Vega flopped on gaming. The amount of time Pascal has been on the market they have been able to make improvements on the clock speeds stability for the 1100 series.
Agreed. NVIDIA could be fine with a Pascal refresh.
I'm sure AMD will work on making improvements to Vega, as it did initially flop for gamers. (It has been great for miners, but...), especially since AMD is including Vega architecture in their new APUs and for APUs, they're looking impressive if the expected performance is anything to be believed.
But until AMD improves their high end, NVIDIA could totally do another Pascal refresh.
I think Vega 56 is a decent card if you can find it at MSRP, but they failed to have anything that competes with the 1080 Ti :(
Joker Great job again also Got my 1070 $429 New at Best Buy just waiting for email to go pick it up

First and foremost- direct me to your barber, man. That definition line is on point!
Second, is there any possibility in getting the M.A.G.A. shirt with the AMD logo in Ryzen colors instead of the traditional green?
As far as Ampere goes, I know a lot of people feel like they should just refresh Pascal, but I think releasing a new architecture is a smart move on their part in order to avoid a similar level of critical disdain that Intel has suffered for the past few years due to their evolutionary approach to new product releases, where it is obvious that they're complacent in their market dominance and therefore only do the bare minimum when it comes to developing and releasing new products. This could be Nvidia's way of saying "Hey, look guys, we're not just resting on our laurels here. We're still hard at work in the R&D department to make sure the market doesn't stagnate..again."
I hope we don't get hosed on the prices of the cards when they release like we did when vega came out last year... :(
Glad to hear that rumor. I wanted to upgrade to pascal but now I will just chill and wait, when possibly new generation of cards is around the corner.
If i'm going to be honest, I don't put much stock into this rumor.
