Let 18-year-olds fight polls, says PIL; SC leaves it to House
NEW DELHI: Using the grounds Parliament had cited to lower the voting age from 21 to 18 years three decades ago, a PIL on Monday sought the Supreme Court’s intervention to allow 18-year-olds to contest parliamentary and assembly elections as against the present requirement that a candidate must be over 25 years.
