Seen a star fish ‘walking’ on the beach? This rare clip will stupefy you

One of the most mysterious and beautiful creatures found beneath the ocean is star fish. It is also known as “sea star” or “basket star”, because – believe it or not – it is not really a fish! Instead, it is an echinoderm, closely related to sea urchins and sand dollars.
But, have you ever seen a star fish walking on a beach? Well, the rare sight was spotted by Zeb Hallock in Corolla, North Carolina in October 2012. However, he only uploaded the video recently, and it caught many eyeballs online. It may be fascinating, but it is also quite scary as the star fish uses hundreds of hair-like cilia on the underside of its body to “walk” on the beach. The 1.26-minute clip has garnered more than 330,000 views so far.
“We noticed there were starfish walking around on the sand near the water. Some were in tide pools but some were just strolling on the sand, very very very slowly. The ones that were on the sand we carefully relocated back to the ocean or a tide pool. Other people coming out to the beach were fascinated by the large amount of starfish and helped relocate the walkers to the water as well,” the caption reads.
