US has given shelter to Afghan air force's first woman pilot Capt Nilufar Rahmanii. His lawyer told this information.
27-year-old Niloufar found refuge in the United States on Monday. 16 months ago he first sought asylum in the United States.
Nilufar and his family were threatening to murder more than once in their own country. In view of this, he seeks asylum in the United States.
After receiving the shelter, Nilufar told the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, "I am really happy. Grateful for those who have contributed in shelter. Now I want to return to my dream career. '
Nilufar's lawyer Kimberly Mattley said his client had received threats from Afghan militants. Relatives, even Afghan officials have condemned him. Due to the threat of murder, his family changed the place of multiple times. When he returned to Afghanistan he had to be confused about his life.
Nilufar traveled to the United States in 2015 for training.
In 2013, at the age of 25, Nilufar became a fixed-wing pilot as the first woman in Afghanistan.
Nilufar received the US State Department's International Women of Curez Award in 2015. He won the honor of US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Nilufar said he wanted to continue the operations as a pilot for commercial or US air force.
Nilufar's lawyer said that his client wants to encourage Afghan women to come to the airline's profession. At the same time, they want to help the Afghan government as much as possible.
