RE: Worker Co-Ops Are Wildly Successful But U.S. Media Ignores w/Richard Wolff

in #news7 years ago

Such a freakin tragedy this video is not more well received (ie. votes).
It just shows how ignorant folks are about how profoundly life-improving a democratic work place would be with worker coops and this proves they would rather be debt slaves to their boss hierarchy and banking systems.

Anyways, on Steemit, the crowd here isn't full of proles and lumpen-proles. It's full of what we would call "middle-class" people. You have yet to really go to the urban scapes or suburbia to really see their belief system. If you organize and help the people, they'll be grateful and intrigued of your philosophy and ideology. But don't state your philosophy or ideology, but say what your philosophy or ideology entails. This shit was explained even by Epictetus in the Enchiridion a long time ago that many people still borrow from to this day. And it works, they'll become what you preach and they'll get further intrigued, then you can safely state your philosophy or ideology. And people don't always say what they mean, you, and I (and maybe Jimmy Dore?), are actually angry at the lack of attention Steemit gives him for the majority of his posts.

Indeed, just checking the vote count, it makes me sick. But remember, never blame the people you wish to liberate from the ills you perceive in society. For there's something higher than the people alone that makes them believe in their false consciousness. For if a system only shows you one thing, which necessarily can be a multiplicity but still, in life, then you will repeat its programming when you see anything defying the logic of the system. The Will of Capital wishes not for the underside to be exposed, thus people remain ignorant of such avenues. This in the end produces a false consciousness that plagues the worker, and eventually even the ruling class as they start to believe into it.
This is where we, Marxists, Anarchists and the such, step in and showcase ourselves. But not by spouting ideology, but with work and education. We give them something to hope to and to make them see an alternative to their condemned lives. If we showcase ourselves but stay humble, people will be provoked and intrigued. Then they will ask for something defies their understanding but harms not their sense of self negatively, then we can start bringing them to us.
