Dozens of Residents' Livestock in North Tapanuli Mysterious Death, Blood Sucked and Carcass Left
North Tapanuli Regent Nikson Nababan made a prize contest of Rp. 10 million for residents who could catch the actors behind the death of dozens of livestock belonging to residents of Pohan Tonga Village, Siborong-borong District.
The contest was made because of the death of farm animals ranging from chickens, ducks to pigs mysteriously died.
The death of livestock has caused unrest in the community.
the mysterious dead livestock are chickens, ducks and pigs.
But so far it is not known which animal or who killed the residents' livestock.
Because the incident like this only happened this once. People have no experience facing the mysterious cause of death of their livestock.
If even before there was interference from other animals, only limited to monkeys.
However, he continued, there must be a trail. As is the case with tigers, there must be a trail and not just take a little bowels and suck their blood like it is happening now.
"Only the footprints were visible on the tree, the cattle were only sucked by their blood and a little of the inside was eaten.
If it's a tiger, it's eaten, it's not. This meat is not eaten, there is blood spilled but not much, "he said.
Suck blood, eat a little bowels, then leave the carcass
According to him, based on the story of the ancestors, similar events were caused by the homang, or gibbons, who like to take kittens to be brought into the forest.
However, what makes me curious, something that attacks the residents' livestock is confusing because it sucks up blood and leaves the carcass.
"Therefore, at this time, we are together with the North Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA), the TNI and Polri, as well as our community to hunt, every day hunting for animals if they are animals," he said.
In addition to hunting, the joint team also installed CCTV (camera traps) and traps at several points.
But also has not yet received a definitive answer to find out the mysterious cause of death of livestock in the Pohan village of Tonga.
The community was also involved in the hunting team to awaken their self-confidence.
Make a contest To increase the enthusiasm and at the same time calm the community at the location, it makes a contest worth Rp 10 million.
The money will be given to anyone who succeeds in catching the 'perpetrators' who have caused a stir in the community.
"I decided to give the term spirit to people who want to search. They can calm the community, anticipate the community by hunting. By doing so, it is hoped that these animals can be caught, may be stressed or what," he said.
Is the sun bear the culprit?
Nikson added, initially had suspected that the bear was a honey bear.
However, he doubted because even though there were traces resembling a sun bear like what happened on the ground or in a tree.
"But once again, honey bears consume honey, not blood or meat. There is literature, something like that might be a crazy dog, as happened in Ukraine. But for sure we are looking for it," he said.
From the photos circulating, livestock that died in the village of Pohan Tonga, Siborong-borong District, North Tapanuli, the condition is shocking.
The ducks had wounds in the neck, some were torn to shreds, then pigs, there was a large tear in the side of his ear and also in his stomach.
Meanwhile, traces were also seen on the ground, and trees. The trail is in the form of scratches. In addition, also found several strands of fur that allegedly belonged to the animal.
