APPLE apologizes to its angry customers and appeases them with low-price batteries
Amid the tumult of Apple's lawsuits and anger at consumers after the company deliberately slowed down its older phones with low-performance batteries, Apple has cut alternative battery prices and will introduce modifications to the driver enabling customers to see if their batteries are good or not.
Apple apologized in a bulletin on its Web site Thursday of its handling of the battery issue and said it would make adjustments "to restore the confidence of all those who doubt Apple's intentions."
Apple took the move to allay fears about the quality and durability of its products at a time when the price of its latest iPhone phone is $ 999.00.
The company said it would reduce the price of replacement of batteries that came out of the warranty from $ 79 to $ 29 for iPhone 6 or later versions starting next month. The company will also launch the operating system (IOS) to enable customers to see the status of their batteries and whether they affect the performance of their devices.
"We know that some of you feel that Apple has failed," Apple said in its publication. "We apologize."
Apple acknowledged on December 20 that the iPhone driver slows down some phones with low-performance batteries. The problem is that outdated lithium batteries distribute energy unevenly, which may make iPhone phones suddenly shut down to protect the sensitive circuits inside.
This reinforces customers' feeling that Apple deliberately slows down old versions of phones to encourage them to buy newer versions of the iPhone. While there is no concrete evidence to prove this, the discovery of the batteries problem has angered social networking sites and others.
Apple on Thursday denied it had deliberately done anything to shorten the life of any of its products.
At least eight lawsuits have been filed in California, New York and Illinois accusing the company of deceiving customers and slowing down telephones without warning. The company also faces a legal complaint in France.
