One of the most popular Bengali poet, novelist, playwright and musician Kazi Nazrul Islam of the twentieth century. One of the best personalities of Bangla literature, society and culture, this poet is well-respected at both places in West Bengal and Bangladesh. Because of his rebellious attitude to his poetry, he was called a rebel poet.

The 119th birth anniversary of rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam is today. He was born in Churulia village of Asansol subdivision of Bardhaman district of West Bengal, India, 11th May, 1306 BS 11th January, 1899. The eldest son of Zaida Khatun, the second wife of Kazi Fakir Ahmad, the son of grandfather Kazi Amin Ullah, is the sixth child. His father, Fakir Ahmad, was a local mosque's imam and a mazar khadame.

Among the three brothers of Nazrul, the younger Qazi Ali Hossain, and the eldest of the two sisters, Kazi Sahebjan and the younger Umm Kulsum. Kazi Nazrul Islam's nick name was 'Dukhu Mia'. Nazrul worked as a muezzin in the local mosque. Maktawi started to study the Quran, Islam, philosophy and Islamic theology.

When his father died in 1908, he was only nine years old. After the death of his father, his absence of family due to lack of survival and his job is to earn a living at the age of ten. At that time, after passing the lower secondary examination from Nazrul Maktu, he started his education. At the same time, Haji started the work of the graveyard of Paloyan and started the Mujahedin of the mosque. Through these works, he got an opportunity to get acquainted with the fundamental rituals of Islam at a very young age, which later influenced his literary work. He is said to have started the practice of Islamic spirit in Bangla literature.

The status and importance of Kazi Nazrul Islam in the Bengali mind of the twentieth century is immense. Nazrul was always vocal against injustice and injustice as a poet, literary, musician, journalist, editor, politician and soldier. This attitude is reflected in his poems and songs. Anniversary of his birth and death is celebrated every year in special honor.

In April-June 1921, Ali Akbar Khan became acquainted with the book publisher in the office of Nazrul Muslim Sahitya Samity. Along with that he first came to Birjasundari Devi's house in Comilla. And here it is known that with Pramila Devi she was married first and later married. But before that Nazrul's marriage was correct with Ali Akbar Khan's sister-in-law Nargis Asar Khanam. Nazrul refused to stay in the house and before leaving the house, Nargis went to the house of Birjasundari Devi in ​​Comilla town. Nazrul was very ill then and Pramila Devi served Nazrul. For example: Krishna Muhammad, Arindam Khaled (Bulbul), Kazi Sabyasachi and Kazi Aniruddha

After working with different theaters in Kazi Nazrul Kishore, she gained a great deal of knowledge about poetry, drama and literature. After working for some time in the Indian army, he chose journalism as a profession. During this time, he used to live in Calcutta. During this time, he came to struggle against the British Raj. The opposition of imperialism in all these literary works was obvious. He had special relations with non-communal religious Muslim society and neglected Indian people. Love, freedom and rebellion gained prominence in his literary work. He also wrote against religious gender.

Although he wrote short stories, novels, dramas, he is more commonly known as a poet. He gave birth to a new trend in Bengali poetry. This is the Islamic music and the ghazal. In addition to this, he wrote many great Shyamasangitas and Hindu Bhaktagaiti. Nazrul composed almost 3000 songs and mostly composed music, which are now known as Nazrul Music or Nazrul Gita and are very popular. In middle age, he was infected with Pix Disease. As a result, he has to be isolated from literary work. At the same time lose mental balance. In 1972, at the invitation of the government of Bangladesh, he came to Dhaka with his family. At that time, he was given the nationality of Bangladesh. Here he died on 27 August 1976.
