Drought in southeast Australia worsens
Drought in southeast Australia worsens😫😫😫
Many of Australia’s southeast districts are struggling with drought. Among them is New South Wales, which is facing the driest and most widespread conditions since 1965.
On Wednesday, authorities in New South Wales announced that the most populous state in the country, which contributes to about a quarter of Australia’s agriculture output, is now entirely in drought.
Farmers are struggling to feed their livestock. They were given permission to shoot kangaroos that may compete with their cattle for food during the intensely dry season.
Some parts of New South Wales have experienced the lowest rainfall on record over the past year. Less than 10mm of rain was recorded in July, and the dry conditions are forecast to continue in the next coming months.
