RE: Greg Hunter: Weekly News Wrap-Up for Week Ending 12 July 2019

in #news5 years ago

I gave you a 100% upvote because I respect your opinion and what you are doing to police the SteemIt community.

You are correct that I am summarizing the YouTube video. This is a value added effort on my part. But more importantly with the censorship by the algorithms on YouTube, I am promoting Greg Hunter's extraordinary contributions to news stories, perspectives, and economic interviews on a censorship-free platform called SteemIt. If just a few more people subscribe to Greg Hunter's channel each week through my promotion of his content, then that is my contribution to fighting the censorship algorithms. I promote Greg Hunter's content using my own currency here on SteemIt. While Greg Hunter is not a crypto-currency advocate (he is currently a gold/silver bug), I strongly believe his voice should be heard and promoted using the cyrpto-currency and the blockchain.

And yes, I do support Greg Hunter's work (USAWatchDog) monetarily too through USD contributions. Here is a recent contribution:

The earnings received from these post enable me to contribute more USD to USAWatchDog.

I will continue my efforts to get Greg Hunter to post his content directly to SteemIt and possibly even to D.Tube. Until Greg is posting directly to the STEEM blockchain, I will continue to promote Greg's channel on this censorship-free platform.

While I am promoting Greg's content, I also support interaction within the SteemIt community. I do this by upvoting every (non-bot) comment to my posts. The greater the interaction (more meaningful the content of the comment) the higher the percentage of my upvote. Besides voting on other posts, upvoting comments is my small way of encouraging and rewarding interactions on SteemIt.

I am a strong advocate of non-censorship. I believe everyone's opinion (voice) should be heard. However, that does not mean that I agree with everyone's opinion. The sharing of ideas and opinions freely in a respectful environment strengthen's the community.

Thank you for your comment along with your downvote. I respect people who explain their downvote. And thank you for your contributions to the SteemIt community.

In an effort to curb my promoting behavior, instead of topping out my promotion at or near $80 to $100, I will cut back to promoting in the $40 to $50 range. This will give Greg's and my original content exposure without going overboard.

Have a great weekend!
Steem on,
Mike

You cannot do right, for doing wrong!

I appreciate what you do for Greg Hunter. I only wish he uses the the alternative social media outlets such as Steemit and D.Tube.

Censorship is now common place on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for free speech that does not agree with the powers that be.

He should post his videos on both formats before he becomes a victim to this censorship and his livelihood ! I know that you have tried , but he seems to be rather stubborn or ignorant of the fact.

As you can gather from listening to Greg Hunter's interviews, Greg is a gold/silver bug. I have absolutely no problem with that, but one must be aware of new technologies, fintech assets, and opportunities.
For example, I use the Brave browser which blocks popups and advertisements.
If you should chose to view advertisements, the Brave browser pays me crypto (BAT) for viewing advertisements. The BAT tokens can be tipped to websites registered with the Brave browser. So that a user who frequents a particular website can leave tip the website using BAT.
After watching Greg Hunter for years, I believe he is not tech-savvy. That is not a ding on Greg, the majority of people in the world fall into that category.
Greg Mannarino (@marketreport) is one of Greg's good friends. When Greg Mannarino started using SteemIt, I thought for sure Greg Hunter would soon follow. I believe Greg Mannarino uses a plug-in like SteemPress to post videos to both YouTube and SteemIt. However, Greg Mannarino (as far as I know) does not currently post his video to D.tube.

When I get time (after I finish my current work stint), I will make another attempt to encourage Greg Hunter's USAWatchdog to use SteemIt, D.tube, and register with the Brave Browser.

Have a great week!
Steem on,
Mike

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, Greg Hunter is a gold and silver bug as within the interviews with financial commentators he asks their thought on its price two or three times.

I get the same impression that Greg is not tech savvy!

I've now been using the brave browser now for over eight months, having changed over from chrome. So far it has been wonderful to use as it blocks out all the annoying adverts, which had become excessive and slowed down the loading of web pages and occasional crashing the chrome browser. Hopefully, the BAT token reward system will gain major adoption, and the web content providers can be fully rewarded for their efforts .
