Gunfire Heard In Turkish Capital. Helicopters, Military Jets Spotted Overhead

Gunfire had been heard in the Turkish capital, there are also reports of unusual heavy military activity in various cities.

Eyewitnesses had reported a large military operation in several cities across Turkey, with soldiers deployed blocking bridges in Istanbul.

The Turkish Prime Minister has claimed part of the military is attempting to overtake the country.
Prime Minister Yildirim has refused to acknowledge that it is a coup, but denounced the illegal attempt to seize power in the military.
