Conservative Brief has to be using AI (poorly) to write their articles

in #news2 days ago

I am no fan of Conservative Brief despite the fact that my own political leanings tend to be conservative in nature. I, like anyone else with a political opinion, would like to see "my team" win for the betterment of society. This doesn't mean that I want LIES to be in the information that a lot of "my team" are receiving. In the past 8 years or so, Conservative Brief has gotten more exposure, more clicks, so to speak, than almost any Legacy Media outlet in existence. This is despite the fact that they are a small team of mostly anonymous authors whose every story is poorly written with clickbait titles that if the person actually read the article, they find out that what is in the headline isn't really what the article is about at all.

They engage in deception, carefully chosen photos that are not related to the article in question, or the article's title won't even be addressed in the poorly written article that follows it. Then there is the question of them regurgitating information in nearly every single article that appears in previous articles. In everything they publish online, about 60% of every article is a reiteration of something that appears in every article. This is the very definition of how brainwashing works.

You are no doubt familiar with the above quote but I had no idea until just now that it was Goebbels that said it. But here's the thing: Even this quote attributed to this man is most likely fakenews as well. There is no direct evidence that he ever said this, even though it is quite a profound statement. Did someone out there decide that this quote needed to be attributed to someone that is globally regarded as horrible? Methinks that this could be the case.

Well, regardless of the origin of the quote itself, there is no denying that media, nearly all media is in the business of doing precisely this. It's maddening if you look into it as much as I do or even more.

Recently I was perusing the articles that Conservative Brief vomits out 20 times a day and came across this one and I strongly encourage you to read it to see point blank what sort of lazy, half-assed "reporting" that Conservative Brief is engaging in on a regular basis.

In the article they talk about a recent cabinet meeting, I believe (but don't really care) that it is the first one that this administration has ever had. In that meeting Elon Musk was in attendance and he was asked to respond to the press about what it is that DOGE is doing in regards to federal employees and the recent email that asked them to simply "put down 5 bullet-points about what they did this week."

Here is a bit of an excerpt that is *directly lifted from Conservative Brief's article that is meant to be a quote from Musk himself.

“The overall goal here with the doors to is to help address the steps that we simply cannot sustain as a coterie two trillion dollar deficit. The interest rates that just the interest on the national debt now exceeds the defense department spending. We spent a lot of us problem, but we’re spending like it over a trillion dollars on interest. If this continues, the country will go to become de facto background, but an optional thing, it is the central thing that that’s best series of here and taking a lot of and getting a lot of death threats like spectrum up. But if we don’t do this, America will go bankrupt. That’s why it has to be done. Competence at this point knock on wood, like of my head,”

I'm reminded of the meme where "Godzilla died trying to read that" because it is a bunch of nonsense. At first, I thought that maybe they were trying to make Elon look bad so I looked it up and found the video of Elon talking about this.

If you skip ahead to exactly 1:58 in the video. That is where Elon's first words are "the overall goal here.." begins. I encourage you to listen to the audio while reading the quote that I have above that again, was directly lifted from Conservative Brief's article.

like to thank the lord for a sport. Thank you very much this. This can only be done with with your sport,”

is what is written on their website. What he actually says is "I'd like to thank everyone for their support, thank you very much, this can only be done with your support."

There is absolutely no way that a person wrote this article. There is no way that someone transcribed his words manually.

So not only are Conservative Brief spreading lies, but they don't even write the lies themselves.

I don't know much about AI, I don't use it at all unless I am screwing around with friends to see what sort of absurd crap it can come up with. I do know that there are a lot of people that are very capable of using it to do wonderful things though. Conservative Brief are not one of the groups that are using it well.

This entire article is nearly 100% nonsense and I can only guess that it is because whatever voice to text transcriber they are using must have some sort of difficulty with Elon's accent. Perhaps they forgot to turn the South African filter on or something.

Fact of the matter is, that Conservative Brief is a dangerously bad source of misinformation and it is disappointing to me that millions upon millions of people go to it for current events. If you are one of those people, please stop now. You are better off having no idea what is going on in the world than to have it told to you by these buffoons.
