If you want to combat trolls, you have to think like them. Stories like this are low hanging fruit, easily turned into memes, and can be exploited for maximum reaction with minimum effort. And they thrive on public exposure.

To be honest, the attention we give the trolls fuels them far more than the stories they meme out. And I say that having lurked amongst Anonymous in the late 2000's-early 2010's.
