China And Pakistan Miffed With The Development Of Close Ties Between India And The US.

The recent trip to the US by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has caused consternation among the two countries which are considered adversaries of India, China and Pakistan.

In fact the meeting between the two ended up with a joint statement which castigated both China and Pakistan as being "nettlesome". In fact Pakistan was warned publicly against backing terrorist groups in its territory and an extremist named Syed Salahuddin, who has been harbored by the country was declared a global terrorist.

Pakistan's response to this was by releasing a statement which said:

The designation of individuals supporting the Kashmiri right to self-determination as terrorists is completely unjustified.

Meanwhile CHina too released a statement where it has angrily stated:

To assume a role as an outpost country in the US' strategy to contain China is not in line with India's interests. It could even lead to catastrophic results.

It is now apparent that the developing closeness between the world's oldest democracy and the world's largest is not conducive to the big players in Asia and I expect more nastiness and curt statements for some time to come before we would see which way this spat will lead.
