Charlottesville Violence

I've been shocked and fascinated at the unfolding of the story with what happened in Charlottesville Virginia this week. I am not sure how you can unfold such a dynamic situation with honesty and clarity on who did what...unless you were actually there. Even then It would be difficult as several things were happening at several different points.

The best - unbiased - content I have been able to find on what actually happened is here: https://www.vox.com/2017/8/12/16138460/charlottesville-unite-right-rally-violence-protests

There have been plenty of "opinions" and "explanations" from MSM with out actual coverage of whats happened. Would love your thoughts - especially if you were present -

From reading this article it would appear both protestors and counterprotestors came 'armed for conflict'

To be clear -

  1. I do not think political violence will work, nor do I condone it.
  2. I think hate speech is a very broad term - that you will be able to find anywhere -
  3. I think people that are legitimately racist are small thinking and will gradually become more and more powerless in society.
  4. Trying to silence anyones voice with violence is futile and will only make it more amplified
