MWC2018: LG V30S THINQ: a mobile phone with the artificial intelligence of the camera
It is true that LG did not intend to launch any new G-class smartphone at the Global Telephone Show in Barcelona, but the Korean technology brand took advantage of this opportunity to present a new update on its LG V30, It is a new version called "LG V30s ThinQ".
This new smartphone, in fact, retrieves a large part of the previous version's technology, but has an additional space for RAM and internal storage, and also offers a "dose" of artificial intelligence technologies at the camera level.
Like the V30, unlike most competitors, the LG has chosen to include the V30s ThinQ, a wide-angle slot with another focal angle, at a very wide angle this time. Therefore, we find a large angle camera equipped with a 16-megapixel camera and a f / 1.6 slot with 3-axis stability, while the second camera is based on a 13-megapixel lens, and a pickup opens with f / 1.9.
At the video capability level, both cameras can always record 2160 pixels at 30 frames per second. As for the front camera, it allows recording 1080p video clips.
You may wonder about the label "ThinQ" that accompanied the V30s!
This label actually relates to the photographic functionalities associated with the concept of artificial intelligence (AI) under the name "Vision AI". The way it works is similar to that proposed by Huawei's Mate10 Pro. By the way, the AI CAM function plays the role of an interloper during image capture, to identify the scene or subject matter, and then automatically process the image processing.
In addition, LG has introduced an innovative new function called "Bright Mode", which will use different "algorithms" to enhance the brightness and luminance of captured images in low light conditions while reducing the appearance of " Hype "at this time, at the same time.
Compared with the V30, the only other developments at the technical level of the new ThinQ V30s are mainly 6-gigabyte (instead of 4-gigabyte) RAM, with storage capacity ranging from 128 to 256 (instead of 64)
For the rest, we find a 6 "(15.2 cm) AMOLED screen that adopts the standard QHD + (2880 * 1440 pixel resolution) and an 18: 9 ratio, and the Snape Dragon 835 Qualcomm, a 3300 millimeter battery with a digital fingerprint sensor and an IP68 license (already on the G6 phone). This new phone will also be an opportunity for Android 8.0 Oreo.
The marketing of LG V30s ThinQ in South Korea is expected in the next few weeks, without setting its price or launch date in European markets.
