The report also predicts a total of 9.1 billion mobile subscriptions at the end of 2023 and expects 4G to become the dominant mobile technology by the end of 2017.

The company is extremely confident that the world’s first commercial network based on 5G New Radio (NR) will go live in 2019, followed by major deployments from 2020. These deployments are foreseen in markets such as US, South Korea, Japan and China.
Currently, the mobile telecom sector is going through a rough patch due to the demand for 4G, 3G and 2G network equipment declining, and the demand for the next generation 5G network equipment not yet generated.
This new generation of 5G devices are expected to bring an age of not only high data speeds but also a wide variety of connected devices.
