Although the Environment & Housing Committee recently decided to close the C48 Bus Service petition, at a public meeting held on Saturday 23rd June organised by local councillor Alastair Majury, supported by Conservative Councillor Douglas Dodds, Alexander Stewart MSP, and a representative from First Bus. Councillor officers were unable to attend but prepared a statement that was handed out to residents along with the proposed new Bus timetable.

Local residents including the original petitioner from across Dunblane & Kinbuck shared their views on the service, acknowledging improvements have been made such as a driver with a poor record of customer service no longer being on the route, although Councillors Majury and Dodds secure the bus stop moving from the foot of Kippendavie Road to the top of this road, there is still strong support for the original Rylands bus stop to be reinstated, concerns about punctuality, no longer having a stop outside the health centre, proposed changes to the timetable, and a shelter being needed requested on the Doune Road.

Local Conservative Councillor Alastair Majury Said:
“I would like to thank Brian from First Bus coming along to listen first hand to the concerns to the locals who use the vital C48 bus service. Councillor Dodds and myself will now meet with council officers to raise these outstanding issues to the attention of council officers so that they can hopefully be quickly resolved.”

Alastair Majury resides locally in the historic Scottish city of Dunblane, and is a Senior Regulatory Business Analyst working across the country. Alastair Majury is also a volunteer officer at the local Boys’ Brigade company, a charity which focuses on enriching the lives of children and young people, and building a stronger community. Alastair Majury also serves on the local council (Stirling Council) as Councillor Alastair Majury where he represents the ward of Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, topping the poll.
