GOVERNMENT TAKING ACTION ON THE BLOCKCHAIN!!

Government getting involved with placing our lives on the blockchain. Is this good or is this bad? What do you think? My home state of Illinois is interested in putting this blockchain pilot into work to digitize birth certificates and organize everything more. On one hand it's nice and will help quite a bit, but on the other.. is it to be trusted?
