Roman Seleznev was convicted by the jury in Washington state for five articles and 38 criminal episodes in August 2016 and sentenced to 27 years in prison in April - an unprecedentedly high period for such accusations in the US.

"Russian cybercriminal today (Thursday) was sentenced to 14 years in prison for taking part in kibermoshennichestve in the amount of $ 50 million, and the kidnapping of nine banks of millions of dollars by using hacking schemes", - said in a statement.
