he Japanese company Funai Corporation, is the manufacturer of the latest in the world of video recorders , announced its intention to cease their production . On it informs edition The New York Times.



Acording to company management , the decision was made due to " difficulties in finding components ." The plant will cease operation at the end of July.



The company noted that in 2015 all over the world were sold only 750 thousand videotapes that does not go to any comparison with the million-selling a few decades earlier . 


The first video recorder (VR- 1000) , which was considered a revolutionary technology that emerged in the mid -1950s . It was created by the American company Ampex under the leadership of its founder , the engineer of the Russian Empire Alexander Poniatowa . Because of its high cost ( 50 thousand dollars ), the first tape recorders used only major television station , replacing them kinoregistratory.
 

A decade later, the VCR became available to the ordinary consumer . In the early 1980s, the price dropped to 1200-600 dollars apiece .  Deliveries of VCRs to the Soviet Union in connection with the embargo as " dual use technology" were banned US until 1970 .  The beginning of sunset technology is considered to be 1996, the year - the time of appearance and DVD players.
