A bit lost here

Hello, I am new to steemit. Have really enjoyed interesting topics, thoughts, insights, stories etc. clearly more intelligent than many other social media platforms. My question: how do I find a spacific steemit person? I have a couple people I know are on here but can not figure out how to find and follow.
