My thoughts on Neil Finn joining Fleetwood Mac

"Ha! Slightly humorous, but kinda lame and unoriginal attempt at an April Fool's joke..."

That was my first thought upon hearing that Neil Finn (of Split Enz, Crowded House, The Finn Brothers, etc.) was supposedly replacing Lindsay Buckingham in Fleetwood Mac.

Turns out that announcement was far from fake news.

Neil Finn performing co-lead vocals on Fleetwood Mac's alleged farewell tour with Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie is not something I ever expected. Honestly didn't know how to react. But having now had a couple of days to process the news I think It's pretty awesome.

Obviously sad that the classic Fleetwood Mac line-up couldn't get their shit together, but creative people need to do what makes them happy and I'm definitely keeping an open mind with this.

Will be weird to see Neil playing other people's songs for an entire concert, but at the same time performing Don't Dream It's Over, Better Be Home Soon and Distant Sun night after night for decades would eventually feel a bit repetitive. Now we get to hear Neil's take on a whole new bunch of songs.

Anyone got any fave Fleetwood Mac songs? Or do all my Steemit friends think it's weird that I listen to music that was released before I was even born?
