While Dennis Wise's videos are refreshing for their perspective, they are also incredibly naive and lacking in understanding of what it was like for normal Germans living within Germany. The truth is, the various regions were all run quite differently, and while things might have been good in one district, in another it could have been quite bad. My mother's area was calm due to the people in charge there; my father's area had heavy restrictions, midnight searches, and yes, the banning of religious items such as bibles.
Hitler DID have a girlfriend, Ms. Eva Braun, but she was kept hidden from view largely in order to enhance Hitler's mystique with the women of Germany.
Germar Rudolph is probably the best resource for a balanced view on Hitler, the myth of the Holocaust, etc... mainly because he views it all through a scientific lens, without the hero-worship. Look into CODOH.com and http://holocausthandbooks.com
