This one is perhaps a little different take on textures ! It's an aerial shot taken from about 8,000m (26,000 ft) in Iran. The desolate looking farming areas in the sandy valley floor provide a stark textural contrast with the arid mountains surrounding it. The mountains in the background form the Kalmand Protected Area located in Yazd Province. This arid area ranges from 1,200 to 3,000m in altitude and gets less than 200mm of rain. If you click to see the enlarged version you will appreciate the detail in this shot a lot more.

Wow, that looks almost mars-like!
Was this taken through a plane's window? Can't spot any reflections, no matter how hard I look :)
Yes it was taken though a plane window. The key to remove reflections using a cover over the window (like a jumper) and to use a lens with a low F stop so you have a shallow DOF a long way from the window.
An unusually attractive texture of the rain opened up to my view. It was infinitely beautiful!

Simple yet great :)
Thank you )
Looks Like Brains
This is a photo of Brain coral taken in the Flower Garden's Marine Sanctuary 110 miles off the coast of Texas. This coral gets its name because of their shape and grooved surface which resembles a brain.

coastal sand grains are very fine, the wind can blow the sand .this form was a unique pattern
Carvings on sand left behind by ocean currents on Famara Beach, Lanzerote. At low tide, all sorts of secret works are exposed. I love walking along the sand at lowtide where earlier it was impossible to see such "artwork".
I recently purchased a new macro lens, which works pretty well for abstract textures. Here is one of my favourites, taken this lunchtime. Click for a larger version
Great photo mark-angel-trueman. Your new Maco lens was worth it. But you forgot that one of the contest rules is to up-vote the contest. Thank you!
Done :)
Thank you for participating

My entry for #texturesthursday #naturephotocontest
This starfish we found at the beach has a rough texture like the melon’s skin. Even the skin’s color of the starfish looks like a melon too.
Here is my entry for texture photo.

This picture I took in France close to Mont Saint-Michel during outflow.
Love the abstractness in this shot - good job!
Thank you :)
