Drill monkeys are known to be shy; but they have a very cute smile.
They use this laughter, known as the "soothing laugh", to make people unhappy when they greet others.

You are sure that you have never seen these shy, colorful monkeys with Mandrillas as cousins.

Sometimes when you meet someone who is very charismatic in your mind, "How are you not famous?" Is the question, which is exactly how I feel about drill monkeys.

I "discovered" them new. What is this drill? And where was this monkey for so many years?

Drillers are just as colorful as their cousins ​​mandrillas, who are self-indulgent with shy and blue-red faces living in a small, remote region of Africa.

Kathy Wood from the Tengwood Organization, a primate protection organization specializing in drills,
says that the zoo has become more popular throughout the history due to its characteristic features, and is therefore more popular among the public.

However, the drillers do not have any downside from the mandrill.

Anthropologist James Higham of New York University, in his e-mail, "Driller has white faces surrounded by white fingers.

This white fleece looks especially great in men; because unlike the mandils, the drill's cheeks are pretty chubby, "he says.

This striking contrast is complemented by a red jaw that creates a strange rubbed lipstick underneath your lower lips.

But it does not end with it, it is the most amazing, and hides the colorful features as festive as last or last.

"Men's sexual organs are red and purple," says Higham. "There is a rainbow in his poppies, similar to mandrillas, made of purple, blue and purple tones."

A study by Higham and his teammates in 2009 revealed that these colors are a hierarchy indicator in men; the men with the brightest colors had the highest ranks.

The teeth have a much darker, brownish brown fur than men and one-third of the men.

"Signs of visual communication are common, including showing their teeth in a social group where drillers live, laughing and shaking their heads back and forth," he says.

Wood describes this dental gesture as "a soothing smile"; drillers and chiropractors use it in both calm and tense situations. Men also grin at the females they see as potential spouses, smacking their mouths.

Drillers and mandrillas can reach up to 35 kilos - big monkeys weighing about a large golden retriever. "Strong physics and five-centimeter-long dog fingers give men a wild air," says Frazier,

"But actually shy animals who live in dryland denser wooded areas."

And the living spaces around the world are not that big.

"Drillers live in a small part of Africa, between Cameroon and Nigeria's Sanaga and Cross rivers, and in Bioko in Equatorial Ginesi," says Higham.

It is difficult to examine them in the remote territories where they live.

The close relative of the mandrilles, a more well-known species that displays dolphin monkeys from time to time in zoos.

Another reason for their poor recognition is the low number.

"Driller's line is, unfortunately, endangered," says Higham, adding: "Population estimates indicate that only a few thousand individuals may be left in nature."

Overfishing and loss of habitat are the two largest sources of pressure that drillers are faced with.

A study published in 2012 in the Ecology and Evolution magazine suggests that global warming may also be another factor damaging animals.

According to Victoria University biologist Alan Dixon, The Mandrill: A Case of Extreme Sexual Selection (Mandril: Extraordinary Sexual Selection), nature conservation in Cameroon will be important for the future of drills.
