The Spotted Pardalote
This tiny bird (about 90mm) is the Spotted Pardalote. It is found across southern and eastern parts of Australia. It's habitat is Eucalptus forest, where it can often be heard calling from high in the tree tops, where it forages for insects. Occasionally it comes down to lower levels and I have even seen it briefly foraging on the the ground as can be seen below.

He looks a bit unproportional.. big head and net, tiny tail. But a very pretty bird! The female has nice golden colours.
Yes I think its the short tail that makes it look like that.
