Wild Africa
Back at home from my travels to Africa, people are always asking me: did you see the big five?
I am lucky to say, yes. The lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. How amazing, beautiful nature.
But there is so much more wildlife, then the big five.
Actually, my favorite one is the zebra.
Zebras are mammals of the equidae. They are african horses. Famous for their stripes.
The stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual.
The main part of the body has most vertical stripes and the legs have horizontal stripes.
Scientist don't know exactly why the zebras have stripes, but they predict it is for camouflage.
Zebras feed almost entirely on grass but may occasionally eat herbs, twig leaves and bark.
Zebras are social animals and spend time in herds.
So if you are lucky enough to go on a safari looking for the big five, don't forget the zebra.
Zebras first.
Nice pictures!
Lots of love,
