organic (homemade) bug repellent for humans
This also works for plants:
- Take a cup and a half of mint plant... stems and all and add to a blender (high-speed if possible).
- Add 6-cups of water.
- Add a peeled whole garlic head... I blend it separately in a Majic Bullet blender first with a little water.
- Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper spice... I use the 2- spoons.
- After thoroughly blending, pour in a large pot and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Let stand and cool naturally, stirring occasionally.
- Add two squirts of liquid dishwashing soap, like Dawn and stir in.
- Strain first to remove larger solids and then again with a paper towel or cloth to remove the fines.
- Pour up in a spray bottle and spray your arms and legs... all bugs hate it. Just try not to wipe your eyes with your arms... while the pepper and ingredents won't hurt you it can temporally burn sensitive areas like your eyes.
