Eugenics.
In a humorous way this is an illustration of one of the core reasons why I objected to eugenics in any form that I've heard proposed by other people.
We literally do not know how to breed a balanced healthy organism. Yes we can breed for particular traits but the side effects are usually disastrous.
Natural selection balances all relevant factors to the problem of ecological fitness. This is why we haven't seen purebred dogs take over the wilds.
They are quite helpless and pathetic even if they are bread for hunting or some other desirable traits.
They can't survive in the wild for the same reason that command economies do poorly against free markets when it comes to innovation or optimization.
