NATURAL IS GOOD WHEN THERE IS PERFECT KNOWLEDGE
While growing up, I used to hear older people in my family saying "Eat what is natural that is the real food" but as a little girl, I would rather have biscuits instead of roasted plantain, my mother would scold me and she say "Our fore fathers never had noodles but they ate natural food freshly harvested from their farms and they live longer than your generation today, try eating natural food it is the best” but I will always complain that natural foods aren't sweet enough. However, the more I grow, the more I realized the danger I was putting myself by consuming only junk and processed foods instead of eating natural food which helps my body system more and nourishes it.
Sometimes, I just watch people talk about vegetables, fruits, palm wine and even honey as though they have some special blessing and I just laugh at them as being local, but truly natural foods are blessings to humanity. When you take coconut water as a direct drink, it is refreshing in a manner that cannot be compared with a bottled beverage, also when you consume fresh roasted corn on the road side during rainy season (like we are right now), the sweetness hits differently. Natural things make us identify with the land and our origins.
However, there are still some loopholes in this natural thing. I remember when all we use is firewood to prepare food before the invention of cookers and oven, even though some people still use them till now whenever they are craving for some food like smokey jollof 😂, that's very beautiful because actually food cooked with firewood hits you differently that you will always want more but let us also know that firewood smoke can cause breathing complications especially for women and children. We have a lot of faith in herbal medicines than drug pills but do you know that some people have lost their lives because of improper dosage or measurement of these same herbal medicines. The natural way is very good but it can also be harmful if it isn't used with caution and proper knowledge of how it works and how it should be used.
Women that keep their natural hairs here in my country can testify to the level of stress and medications they have to put in place in order to keep it healthy and soft without tangling, it takes a lot of money and attention to have a healthy natural hair while it's more simple if you had used relaxer on your hair to soften the hair. This doesn't need you to put extra effort like natural people do. Natural hair is very good as my hair is natural too but it causes you more attention, time and money if you really want to keep it healthy and shining.
