NASA publishes Earth video in which it looks like a living creature
NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio (SVS) has just published a video that shows Earth in a way that most people have never seen before. The video is a timelapse simulation showing the passage of a Category 4 typhoon off the coast of China. The seven-day period is repeated several times while viewing the video.
The scientists used data from the Goddard Erath Obersing System Model, version 5 (GEOS-5), to present the simulation of the passage of bulky clouds. According to the SVS website, the goal of videos like this below is to provide the public with a clearer picture of our planet and our place in it, as well as educate the public about NASA's functions.
"The SVS works closely with scientists to create visualizations, animations and images to promote a better understanding of Earth and the research activities of space science at the Goddard Space Flight Center," says the agency's official website
