Narayanganj fire: Police foil human chain during 'strict lockdown' demanding justice for victims
#Police today foiled a human chain formed by Ganasamhati Andolon in Narayanganj city, demanding justice for the 51 victims, who died in the fire at a food factory building in Narayanganj's Rupganj.#
*Eight people, including leaders and activists of the organisation, were injured during a scuffle as police snatched the banner from demonstrators, reports our Narayanganj correspondent from the spot.
Witnesses said when the human chain started around 4:30pm, a police team led by Inspector (Operation) Kazi Masud of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station, stopped the programme.
Ignoring the obstacle, the protestors continued the programme but other members of the police rushed to the spot and snatched the banner from them, triggering a scuffle.
