I've always been fascinated by abandoned places. When I visit one of these places I feel overwhelmed by many contrasting sensations. In a dead place I feel alive. And it frightens me and makes me feel guilty in some way. The silence that pervades the environment... Sudden and distant noises... Nature that takes possession of what has been stolen by man.... The presumed or real ghosts to witness a past life where now reigns a frightening immobility ... The sense of decadence... The fear of making bad encounters...Well, the abandoned hospital in Hovrino is a perfect sample of what I have just described. It is located in Moscow, in the district of the same name, close to the train station.

The building is a gigantic multidisciplinary clinical hospital with 1300 beds, based on the project by architects inspired by the style of brutalism. Construction began in 1980 but was suspended in 1985 and the real reason is not well known, maybe for a lack of funding, or because the marshy soil was not suitable for bearing the weight of the structure.
Actually, the building remains unfinished and deteriorated, a silent, chilling place that attract a lot of crackheads, hobos and also stalkers and lovers of extreme sports.

The atmosfear of this ghostly place and its strange shape that reminds the biohazard symbol, similar to the Umbrella Corporation Logo from the famous videogame series Resident Evil, has made Hovrino Hospital one of the most mystical places in Russia.

There are a lot of urban legends about it, with stories of satanic sects who practiced human sacrifices, such as the Nimostor club. But not only. We also have ghosts of suicide deaths for love and the figure of a mysterious man who calls himself "the god of Hovrino".

Although access to the palace is forbidden because of its dangerousness, there are tourists who put their lives at risk to experience the thrill of visiting and exploring its interior.
But if you want to listen to a piece of advice, keep away!
