Mycorrhizal fungi

There is a diversity in the Australian ecosystem where Lambers works, not based on mycorrhizal fungi. However, eucalyptus forests have a fungal network, although no detailed study of their functions has been conducted.

According to Professor Ian Anderson, a fungal echolologist from the University of Western Sydney, a lot of underground work is needed to identify the network of connections that show carbon and nitrogen transmission.

According to Anderson, when this can be done, the fungal network in the eucalyptus forests can be seen to have far more important functions than the North American forests whose soil is poor in nutrients.

According to Simard, all the inferences obtained from the studies were obtained from the forested areas formed by old trees. In fact, it is necessary to see the messages that these trees release their heritage and send to the soil around them and how they affect other plant communities.

The results obtained from this may be effective in discovering behaviors in disasters such as wood cutting or fire. Simard also believes that the cork network can prevent other exotic species that are invasive from the outside and can compete with the existing endemic link.
