“Belitung Island, Negeri Laskar Pelangi”

Never had occurred of Negeri Laskar Pelangi could be as famous until right now, everyone will said about the beauty of its beauty. Along with the rising popularity of novel that was published in 2005 written by Andrea Hirata, indirectly also boost of Negeri Laskar Pelangi becomes an alternative destination for tourists around the world.

Belitung is an small island on the east coast of Sumatra, Indonesia in the Java Sea. The blue of sea and sky blue are sight that you will enjoy when you stand in Negeri Laskar Pelangi.

Lengkuas Island - the blue of sea

Lengkuas Island is located in District Sijuk, Belitung Regency is a typical island in Belitung with its very old lighthouse building. Lighthouse as high as 50 meters is one of the buildings since the Dutch era that was built in 1882. The blue water and granite rocks there make this is island of “Belitung”!
You can enjoy the beauty of Lengkuas Island which has an area of ​​about 1 ha is by climbing the lighthouse. If you can’t climb the lighthouse to the top, don’t be forced. You see, every floor in the lighthouse there are windows that face the various directions.

Batu Baginde - the blue of sky

There is a huge granite view and towering like a mountain. This stone is known as “Batu Baginde”.
Stone Baginde consists of two large stones supposedly symbolize of couple. Many people in there believes of both stones have male and female sex. The location of two big rocks is right near the Mountain of Majesty. Therefore, people in Belitung call Batu Baginde.
That said, in the vicinity of Stone Baginde often used as a place of people looking “pesugihan” or seeking wealth with help of demons. In addition, Batu Baginde also became one of the southern markers of Belitung Island.
The scenery around the Batu Baginde site looks so beautiful with the large trees surrounding it. Visitors can also climb this rock to the top and watch the scenery around the village of Tanjung Kandis where Batu Baginde is located.

Belitung Island or Negeri Laskar Pelangi have another several tour sites, the traditional house of Belitung, colonial building, museum, and of course the beautiful beach.

what you eat when hungry???

The local people loves to eat fresh fish. They have this yellow fish soup as their special culinary by using the head part of the fish, called Gangan. The fish they are using for this particular dish is ikan Ketarap. And of course also grilled fish and other seafood.
