We have already talked about IOTA’s role in politics. In November, this might be lifted to a whole new level because Dominik Schiener will be on a panel discussion with Helge Braun, German minister of the chancellery.
Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of the largest newspapers in Germany (circulation of almost 400,000) will be hosting their annual economic summit from November 12-14, 2018. The speakers include German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, several ministers of the German government and lots of high-ranking CEOs of German companies (it is one of Germany’s biggest economic summits to date!).
Dominik Schiener, IOTA’s co-founder, will be representing the IOTA Foundation there and will be part of a panel discussion on November 13 together with Helge Braun, Head of the Chancellery & Federal Minister for Special Affairs:
The topic of the talk says it all: How can Germany become a leading blockchain nation? And IOTA is there to answer the question.
Moreover, the speaker details about Dominik Schiener reveal something else:
IOTA apparently is working together with Deutsche Telekom, Europe’s largest telecommunications provider (more than €70bn revenue annually), and Deutsche Bahn, the second-largest transport company in the world and largest railway operator and infrastructure owner in Europe carrying 2 billion passengers per year. Their interest apparently lies in IOTA’s Data Marketplace where they could buy and sell a lot of data (an update of the data marketplace will follow very soon, according to Dominik Schiener on IOTA’s Discord Channel).
This is huge news for IOTA in terms of real world adoption and shows how serious this project is.
