New Years Eve Chaos, in the ZajMusic camp!

in #music7 years ago (edited)

Part of the business.

As you may already be aware, I've recently been asked to take over the management of an internationally known guitar player, by the name of Zaj. It came as a bit of a surprise to me. But, looking back on the events leading up to it, it all took a linear path. Hindsight IS 20/20.

The months leading up to New Years Eve were hectic, to say the least. We had quite a few smaller shows, all over California, that got booked prior to me taking on the role. But, I had already been involved for the better part of a year. So, we were just finishing out a calendar and approaching the holidays.

I was on the road a lot, even before the schedule got really busy. I was packing my photo gear and taking off to shows to shoot for a few days at a time and at a moments notice. That's just the sort of craziness you deal with, when running around with a group of musicians. It's crazy fun, too, though.

Come prep time for New Years, I was running around, doing shoots at events. Along with all of the post work, editing and uploading. Music needed to be selected and remastered for backing tracks, gear packed, schedules organized and during all the chaos, some issues came up, during the process.

Several conversations, while traveling stretches of lonely highway, brought out a lot of situations that had been playing out, throughout the years. Being a solution driven man, I began to offer my thoughts on the matters that were being raised. Which, ultimately led to me taken on the role.

Long story short... I immediately began sorting images, drafting designs, researching platforms and apps, all related to the music-business and started the process of composing a course of action. I needed to fast track this project and fast track, I did. While jumping around from gig to gig, in between getting shots, I was designing the website, social media network and piecing together myriad apps and services, connecting API's and integrating automation, to relieve myself of menial, unnecessary task to streamline my workflow.....

To be continued.
