30DAYS Music Challenge day 19: Nothing compares 2 U, Chris Cornell
On the 18th of May 2017 the terrible news hit the world of the death of Chris Cornell. Former frontman of Soundgarden, Audioslave and a great solo carriere. He commited suicide.... To bad, the world lost another great musician..
I heard about Chris his solo stuff not very long ago, I think about 4 years. A colleague of me at work pointed me out his music. Of course I did know Soundgarden, but not the solo works of Chris. The live registration she showed me , Chris played several covers like Billie Jean (Michael Jackson) and this song, Nothing Compares 2 U. Both songs he made his own by changing the melodic voice in singing.. I gave both songs a complete other dimension.
I think no one can do it better than the Prince version itself, but this version with the chello, his warm (almost acing voice) makes it a very special and beautiful one..
