I promised to come back with a review of the album and here it is!
Initially I was scared that my review would be on the negative side (because I wasn’t feeling the Album)...but after listening patiently to the lyrics I fell in lOvE 😍

This is quite a different approach from what I’m used to of cole’s music. He rapped about drugs and the typical black man sh*t! The lyrics were tight as usual with great storyline in between.

After repeated listening of the album, I decided to make a short list of the most appealing tracks on the Album. My Top 5 picks are below...

Window Pain(Outro): Ohhh man, I was bobbling my head while listening to this Jam. Cole went deep and talked about his “niggas” back home and the stupid shit they do.

It seems like for acceptance, niggas will do anything
Niggas will rep any gang
Niggas will bust any head

The chorus is also pretty catchy

1985: 😅😅😂 Lmao! I’m actually laugh. Very Condescending track from Jermaine.

I’m fucking with your funky lil rap name

It’s one hell of a track where J.Cole schooled “Lil Pump” (I guess) real hard. I won’t call this a diss track because J.Cole was talking to “Lil Pump” the way a Father will to his Son. No doubt tho....J.Cole took the kid to school on this!

Once an Addict (Interlude): So this is an intetlude....but damn, it is sooooo good! One of the best tracks in the album.Cole shares a sad but interesting story of a mother who is high strung on Alcohol.

Somethings got a hold on me, I can’t let go outta fear I won’t be free

BRACKETS: The second verse of this song is thought provoking 🤔🤔, Cole is asking questions on how his taxes are being spent because he sees no vivid improvement around him. He further rapped about the Govt. redirecting this same taxes into Companies making Guns and shit.

I said Democracy is too fucking slow
If I’m giving y’all this hard earned bread, I wanna know
Better yet let me decide, Bitch its 2018
Let me pick the things I’m funding from an app on my screen

ATM: You know it’s all about the mulla baby! Now this is something we don’t see J.Cole do so often (if at all) this has that trippy feel with its theme based on ppls love for money/materialistic things

Thanking God like its biblical
I know he’s gon solve every problem I have
I balled on the principal, remember the teachers was all on my ass
Now look all o’them pitiful, and all of a sudden Im so good at math
...
Count it up Count it up Count it up Count it!
Can’t take it when you die but you can’t live without it

Bonus
Kevin’s Heart is another track off the KOD album that is worth mentioning. As hilarious as I find this video(Kevin Hart will always make me laugh)there’s a moral to pick out of it

C H O O S E W I S E L Y

It's really great music, very inspirational but you have to listen carefully to get it right.
