This is the first review which is given to the first place winner of our DSound Weekly Contest
Week #1 winner was @anneke-devries with an awesome song called Alone
Anneke is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Monster, currently based in Haarlem. After hiding behind playing lots of covers from artists like Richie Kotzen, Striking Matches, James bay, Nikki Yanofsky, Keith Urban and more, she now decided to step up and focus completely on writing and performing her own music as well. With a strong, country-ish sound, she knows how to get her lyrics across, which are mostly based on feelings and happenings from her own life experience. Together with the amazing guitar play and solo’s from guitarist Febby she has been amusing a whole bunch of stages already, such as Park Pop, Rotown, Gouda Studio’s, various local radio stations and a lot of café’s, and she is aiming to do much more!
When I first listened to the song I instantly felt a connection, I felt every word. You can hear that she's telling a story from her heart and she sings it with passion. It has awesome ups and downs getting you immersed in a beautiful musical journey. It is not easy to make someone feel like that with a song, I got goosebumps!
The vocal performance is outstanding and I think many people could relate with the lyrics as well. That's the reason why she earned first place in this contest. She's still super young and she's already great, I see a great future!
