This Day in Rock and Metal History - 26th of December

in #music8 years ago (edited)

Lars Ulrich, Metallica's drummer, was born on December 26, 1963 in Gentofte, Denmark. Lars met James Hetfield via an advertisement that was published by Hetfield in "The Recycler", after which they both founded Metallica in 1981.

Ulrich's drumming style is one of a kind and has largely contributed to the distinctive sound of Metallica starting from their debut album "Hit the lights" which was released in March, 1982. Although his style was marked by fast and aggressive thrash beats during the 80s, the latest albums featured a more groovy and experimental style from Ulrich.

"One" is one of Metallica's all time great hits and shows off Ulrich's awesome drumming skills.

Enjoy......
