This Day in Rock and Metal History - 24th of December

in #music8 years ago

On December 24, 1945, Lemmy Kilmister was born in Staffordshire, England. Lemmy Kilmister was a musician, songwriter and vocalist who fronted the heavy metal band "Motorhead". Lemmy's music has shaped the heavy metal music movement and largely contributed to how metal sounds today.

Despite his booming career as a rockstar, Lemmy was also known for his tough lifestyle and heavy consumption of alcohol and amphetamines. Sadly, Lemmy passed away on December 28, 2015.

May his soul rest in peace.

"Whorehouse blues" is one of Motorhead's great tracks. Enjoy listening....

Anyone reading this, if you are a fan of metal at all, not just of Lemmy, you should watch the Lemmy documentary, lots of spots from people in the industry but mostly a lot of footage of the great Lemmy, really good watch

Awesome post @tamerameeh , the guy was a living embodiment of metal. Even the most overplayed track Ace of Spades still kicks ass, it will be in a playlist sometime today for sure now along with some other Motorhead.

YEs, Lemmy is one of the metal "Gods", if there were any. Cheers!

If there was a Mount Rushmore of Metal, he would be one of the four heads. Ozzy too. I was trying to think of two others and it is so hard, so many metal gods and way way too many varients in metal music itself at this point.
