Electronic production and Recording

almost 6 years ago, I started fidgeting around with digital audio workstations like Fl Studio, and Ableton live 9. Around the time in which I started, I had no idea what the hell I was getting into, I had no idea as to how any of this works.

Digital audio synthesis is pretty much the fundamental of almost all music that is created now, whether it be die hard synthesis, or even sampling. Electronic production is available to pretty much every single genre known, now a days people aren't really even doing raw recording and organic tempo alignment, its usually pre-recorded and then stretched to fit the synthetic tempo of the desired piece of music, and this is generally done using a digital audio workstation.

Once you know these few key factors, you can start to interpret the musical pieces others have created. Hip hop most of the time is just a basic 2 step beat with many clicky hi-hats and loads of vocal samples (not counting original vocal recordings). Hip Hop wouldn't necessarily exist without sampling, everything from the kick drum to the instruments are usually sampled, tweaked using audio effects, then slid together into a musical piece that actually sometimes works pretty well.

Knowing how some music is, created allows you to interpret what is going on, then allowing you output those same techniques into your own musical works.

Electronic production is the future of music, it can be used to create any genre imaginable, even classical piano and strings. All it takes is an adaptive mind, the resources (Ableton, digital synths etc.) and very little knowledge of music theory. Making music is available to everyone, don't be lazy! Just dive in and soon enough you will know how to do exactly what you wanted to do.
