I feel hip hop has been on a major downslide for almost the past two decades. It just ain't what it use to be.You can't argue that it's not a completely different ball game today, compared to what it was then.

Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers

I like rap that tells stories & has style or just gangster shit haha. But today, we don't really get any of that. Now, most "rappers" talk about pills & stuff that literally makes no sense.Like there was obviously no thought or soul put into "gucci gang, gucci gang, gucci gang" for two fucking mins. straight by some dork who's hair looks like sour punch straws.

No, this shit is disgusting & it's mind boggling how this stuff trends so easily. We went from real art in the 90s to mumble rap bullshit. If there was a time that hip hop needed a savior, there's no better time than right now.

Nas: illmatic

I'm sure that there's some real artists out there, but sadly they're not getting the platform they need.Instead the spotlight is being given to dummies talking about how "cool" xanax is.We even got a fucktard named Lil Xan...

Biggie: Life After Death

Tupac: All Eyez On Me

I don't know man, I just feel like rap back then had real meaning & sometimes even serious stakes on the line. Now, it's like a competition of who can look the dumbest.

Eminem: The Slim Shady LP

A few examples of style I was talking about is like the Wu-Tang & their fascination with kung fu movies & lyrics that make you think. Then there's Nas who's just a genius when putting his stuff together. You got Eminem back in the day with his controversial lyrics that ranged from dark humor to heartfelt songs.Lastly, there's Tupac & Biggie, who there'll never be guys like them ever again.

GZA: Liquid Swords (Probably my fav rap album)

Does anyone have any suggestions on some albums from the golden era? Maybe a hidden treasure from today? I'd like to hear your feedback.

Tell me about it man!! Hip Hop nowadays is complete rubbish. There's a catchy song that'll come out from time to time but the whole game has changed. I grew up on the real shit. Mobb Deep, Nas, Del, Wu-Tang, Biggie, Tribe, Group Home, Rakim, NWA, DMX, Raekwon, Meth, Redman, Ice Cube, KRS, Beatnuts, Pharcyde, Gangstarr, The Roots, Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, Snoops old shit, Geto Boys, Deck, Jeru, Mos Def, Public Enemy!

I like what I see haha.I jam to a great majority on your list

True that, these albums and artists arr among the golden Era of hip-hop. There's still some gems today, but it was still raw back then. Are you a fan of Gang Starr?
